Malmesbury Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy Treatment

A physiotherapist is highly skilled to provide holistic treatment and to facilitate recovery of a wide range of musculo-skeletal, neural and fascial conditions.

Physiotherapists use clinical reasoning skills and hands-on treatment, combined with exercises and advice, to help their patients with pain, injuries, stiffness and imbalances of different tissues in the body.

The goal is optimal function as soon as possible, a good quality life and to prevent recurrence.

This involve the physiotherapy treatment of injuries or diseases of the musculo-skeletal system

Chronic pain

Chronic pain is ongoing pain, present for longer than 3 months

Sports injuries

Activity or sport related injuries of competitive or social athletes

Post-operative rehabilitation

After orthopaedic surgery like knee or hip replacements

Dry needling

Dry needling uses fine needles to treat muscle spasms and no medication is administered

Respiratory treatment involves the use of nebulisation, postural drainage and chest percussions to mobilise secretions of the airways.

Joint mobilization

This is a passive technique where small oscillatory movements (rolling and gliding of the joint surfaces) are done to improve joint movement

Soft tissue techniques

Soft tissue treatment is done when there has been direct trauma to muscles or with repetitive strain and overload injuries

Postural rehabilitation

To prevent musculo-skeletal injuries and to alleviate chronic performance issues, a holistic assessment of each individual’s movement patterns is done
